ACEND-Accredited Graduate Dietetics Programs at Texas Woman’s University

Texas Woman’s University offers two current ACEND-accredited graduate dietetics programs at its Denton and Houston campuses. Each program combines a TWU graduate degree with the academic preparation and supervised experiential learning required for graduates to become eligible to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialing examination for the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
The programs operate independently in structure, faculty, admissions requirements and supervised experiential learning sites. Students enrolled in either program complete one of the following graduate degrees:
- Master of Science in Nutrition
- Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Nutrition
Refer to the Graduate Catalog and individual program webpages for degree requirements and course sequencing.
To earn the RDN credential, graduates must successfully complete all program and graduate degree requirements and pass the CDR credentialing examination for dietitians. Additional information about educational pathways and the RDN credentialing process is available through the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

Career Outlook

Employment of dietitians and nutritionists is projected to grow 6% from 2024 to 2034, faster than the average for all occupations. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a median annual wage of $73,850 for dietitians and nutritionists in May 2024. Salaries vary based on experience, geographic location, employment setting, specialty and level of responsibility.

Information for International Applicants

International applicants must meet Texas Woman’s University requirements for graduate admission, including applicable English-language proficiency and international transcript evaluation requirements. Additional eligibility requirements may vary by dietetics program based on the applicant’s prior education. Applicants should review the admissions requirements for their intended program and contact the appropriate program director with questions about prior coursework or credential evaluation.
