The TWU Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences is hosting two Summer Nutrition Camps in 2026.

Food is a Passport—Let’s Use It!

June 15-18, 2026
Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m.- 1 p.m.
Ages: 9-15
Price: $325

Food is a Passport is a hands-on, culturally enriched nutrition and culinary camp designed for students who love food, cooking, learning and trying new things. During this multi-day experience, students will “travel” to different regions of the world; exploring the flavors, ingredients, and food traditions that make each culture unique.

Participants will learn kitchen skills, taste-test foods, learn how cultural identity influences diet, and prepare simple, healthy dishes inspired by global cuisines. Throughout the camp, students will also learn about balanced nutrition, mindful eating, and how to make connections between food, culture, science and health.

Campers will have fun learning professional kitchen skills while also exploring fascinating science topics such as sustainability, pollination, and zero-waste cooking.

Join us as we blend science and sustainability right into the kitchen adventures, making every day an educational and tasty experience. Each day focuses on a new culinary skill, a main cooking project, and a fun "stretch challenge" to keep both beginners and seasoned young chefs excited and involved.
