CARES Act
Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act
As part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act 2021 (CRRSAA), the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II (HEERF II) provides colleges with funds to award grants for their students.
Health and Academic Support
Students who have been impacted by COVID-19 exposure/illness who have health concerns may discuss it with Student Health Services (SHS) and/or need their professors regarding missed assignments.
Student Health Services
TWU Student Health Services is operating under normal business hours: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Hours and availability of certain services may be limited or change depending on staff availability during the COVID-19 response.. Appointments may be made by calling 940-898-3826 or through secure message using the TWU Patient Portal. Immunization compliance and other services are also available.
Counseling and Psychological Services
TWU Counseling and Psychological Services offers teletherapy sessions by confidential video conference or phone. Students can schedule an appointment by calling 940-898-3801. If you leave a message, be sure to provide a call back number.
Optum’s emotional-support help line for students with anxiety or stress due to COVID-19 includes FREE 24/7 access to specially trained mental health specialists: 866-342-6892.

Logging into Canvas
Canvas can be accessed on the TWU My Courses website. On the My Courses page, click the login button for Canvas and enter your Pioneer Portal username and password.

The library provides services for face-to-face, hybrid and distance learning, including help from librarians.
Online Academic Tutoring Resources
Academic Coaching – Work collaboratively with a coach on study skills and strategies including test taking tips, note taking and time management. Schedule an academic coaching appointment online.
Write Site – Get individualized or group writing instruction. Schedule a Write site appointment online.
Science Learning Resource Lab – SLRC provides review sessions in direct support of TWU classes. Once enrolled in the Canvas collaborative space, follow the instructions to sign up for an online tutoring session.
Math & Technology Success Center – MTSC provides tutoring in direct support of instruction for TWU classes. Check out the MTSC website for more information.
