Edwards to lead Kenyan research panel

Joan Edwards, PhD, by invitation of Mary Nandili, PhD, director of nursing for the Kenya Ministry of Health, is leading a Kenya Research Advisory Panel to assess, prioritize and develop a research plan for the nursing profession in the country of Kenya (2019-20).

Leyva studies HIV in Peru

Juan Leyva, CGN community member and 2016 TWU Visiting Scholar from Barcelona, Spain, is the principal investigator of a research study being conducted in Chiclayo, Peru to understand the experience of living with HIV and the beliefs attributed to antiretroviral therapy.

Liu, McFarlane visiting scholars in China

In 2018 and 2019, Fuqin Liu, PhD, and Judith McFarlane, PhD, served as visiting scholars in Jinan, China, at Shandong University School of Nursing and WHO Collaborative Center.

McFarlane involved in Gates Foundation-funded research in Pakistan

Since 2017, Judith McFarlane, PhD, has been the technical advisor on a five-year, three-arm, cluster randomized controlled trial in Pakistan, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, titled “Preventing Family Violence and Empowering Poor Women with Couples Life Skills Building and Cash Transfer.”
