Before applying, review the program’s website at Programs, Majors & Degrees for specific admission requirements and application deadlines.

1.  Apply online

2.  Submit transcripts to TWU

List all colleges and universities attended in the application. We will need official transcripts from each, even if grades are reflected on another transcript.

  • Domestic Applicants: Submit official U.S. transcripts from all attended colleges or universities (both undergraduate and graduate). Refer to the information on transcripts page for detailed guidelines.
  • International Transcripts: Submit a Course-by-Course evaluation prepared by a NACES or AICE member evaluation service provider. See International Admissions’ How to Apply for more details.

3.  Submit recommendation requests

If your program necessitates recommendation letters, include the required names within the application. Check your program’s website for details, if applicable.

4.  Pay the application fee

The $50 fee (or $75 for International applicants) must be paid through one of the following methods:

  • Credit card: Pay online within the application before submission
  • Fee Waivers: Certified McNair Scholars or TWU Alumni may apply for waivers. Check your eligibility first, then submit the request through the Application Fee Waiver Submission Form

You will need to depress the submit button and verify your application information until the system confirms the application has been submitted. You will then see an option to return to the home screen.

5.  Upload supplemental documents

  • Some graduate programs require additional materials such as a resumé, department application, essays, and letters of intent. Check the program’s website to verify if supplemental forms are required.
  • Return to the home screen after fee payment to upload necessary supplemental documents. The online application specifies the documents required for program admission.

After you apply

After you apply, look out for an email with instructions on setting up your Pioneer Portal and TWU Gmail account. You can also find instructions on our Next Steps website. We recommend checking your TWU Gmail account daily or once a week. This is where communication from TWU is sent, including scholarships and financial aid award letters, housing selection and enrollment information, so it’s important to check it often.
