Our Promise to you

TWU has partnered with several community organizations in the North Texas region to provide students in Dallas County, Tarrant County, Grayson County, Cooke County, and Montague County access to a quality education with coaching on college readiness and success.

Students who graduate from a participating high school or community college may be eligible for a last-dollar tuition and fees award to TWU as well as additional resources, like TRiO support, First-Gen support, and Summer Bridge.

Award eligibility

First-Year students who meet all the criteria below may be eligible to receive a last-dollar tuition and fees award for eight (8) consecutive Fall and Spring (long) semesters at TWU.

Transfer students who meet all the criteria below may be eligible to receive a last-dollar tuition and fees award for four (4) consecutive Fall and Spring (long) semesters at TWU.

The last-dollar award is only applied after all other gift aid (grants and scholarships) have been accepted.

First-year student eligibillity

  1. Attend a Participating High School
  2. Submit the Pledge or Path Form
  3. Be an official Texas Resident
  4. Be Pell Grant eligible or have a Pell Grant eligible Student Aid Index (SAI) as determined by the FAFSA or TASFA
  5. Apply to TWU on/before the deadline of August 1st
  6. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) by the priority* deadline of April 15 (*for Fall 2024 applicants)
  7. Enroll Full-Time (minimum 12 credit hours) in the fall semester following high school graduation

Transfer student eligibility

  1. Must attend a participating community college and maintain Promise Eligibility at that community college
  2. Be an official Texas Resident
  3. Be Pell Grant eligible or have a Pell Grant eligible Student Aid Index (SAI) as determined by the FAFSA or TASFA
  4. Apply to TWU by the priority deadline of August 1st for the fall semester or December 15th for the spring semester
  5. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) each year on/before the priority deadline of April 15 for Fall or December 15 for Spring
  6. Enroll Full-Time (minimum 12 credit hours) in the long semester (fall or spring)

  1. Submit your Pledge or Path Form to your respective partnership
  2. Apply to TWU as a first-year student by August 1 of your Senior Year
  3. Submit a FAFSA or TASFA by priority deadline April 15 of your Senior Year

Promise Scholar Award

The Promise Scholar Award ensures that a student’s tuition and fees are covered through gift aid. Gift aid includes TWU scholarships and all grants.
