Faculty

Associate Professor/Program Director - Health Care Administration, Houston

Performs coordinative and supervisory work in the facilitation, and development of special programs. Provides planning and expertise in area of program. Work is performed under minimal supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures. 

Essential Duties: 

  • Monitors and implements program related activities, following policies and guidelines.

  • Collects and edits data for reports, drafts, or manuscripts.

  • Maintains good public relations.

  • Prepares annual budget.

  • Provides administrative support.

  • Coordinates communication materials.

  • Anticipates needs of the grant, if applicable and develops recommendations for filling these needs.

  • Ensures proper reporting and administration of requirements.

  • Develops and maintains an effective record keeping procedure.

  • Ensures that support services are provided to the program and community.

  • Ensures proper reporting and administration of requirements.

  • Meets with professors or other staff members in the collaboration of the success of the programs.

  • Works with students in ensuring their academic success.

  • Works with outside agencies.

Assistant Professor/Associate Program Director - Health Care Administration, Dallas

The Healthcare Industry Liaison will serve as a strategic connector between Texas Woman’s University’s Health Care Administration (HCA) Program and the healthcare industry. Based at the Dallas campus, this individual will leverage their deep experience and network in healthcare to enhance the program’s engagement with healthcare organizations, support curriculum innovation, and expand opportunities for student internships, career pathways, and faculty-industry collaboration. This is a non-tenure track administrative leadership role and does not require a doctoral degree or experience with CAHME accreditation processes.

Responsibilities:

Industry Engagement & External Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth region and beyond.
  • Develop pipelines for student internships, and career placements.
  • Represent the HCA program at industry events, networking functions, and community initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for faculty to engage in applied research, consulting, or project partnerships with healthcare industry stakeholders.
  • Serve as the program’s primary liaison to external partners in the healthcare field.

Program Development & Support

  • Collaborate with HCA faculty and the Program Director to develop and refine curriculum with industry input.
  • Stay current with healthcare trends and workforce needs to ensure program relevance and innovation.
  • Support planning and execution of professional development activities, immersion experiences, and employer engagement events.
  • Facilitate the involvement of healthcare leaders in guest lectures, panel discussions, and mentorship activities.
  • Teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online graduate courses in the HCA program (2-3 courses per semester).

Assistant Professor of Healthcare Administration, Houston

Texas Woman’s University (TWU) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Healthcare Administration. We seek a collegial scholar-practitioner with expertise in healthcare leadership, health policy, healthcare operations, or related areas, who can deliver high-quality instruction, sustain an impactful research agenda, and support program growth at our CAHME-accredited Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program. The position is housed in the Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship and will be based at the TWU Institute of Health Sciences in Houston, with potential teaching assignments across campuses or online.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate-level courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
  • Develop and maintain a scholarly research agenda leading to peer-reviewed publications and/or applied healthcare scholarship.
  • Contribute to academic service at the program, college, university, and professional levels.
  • Support CAHME accreditation efforts, program-level assessment, and continuous curriculum development.
  • Advise and mentor students to support academic and professional success.
  • Collaborate with faculty and healthcare organizations to build community partnerships.
  • Attending regular departmental and college meetings, which may require occasional travel to Denton, Texas.

Assistant Professor of Health Care Administration (BBA)

The TWU Merrilee Alexander Kick College (MAK) of Business & Entrepreneurship is searching for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) to teach Health Care Administration beginning August 2025. To be appointed as an Assistant Professor, candidates must possess an earned doctorate degree in Health Care Administration or a related discipline.  ABD candidates near completion will be considered. Professional experience in health care administration is highly desired, as is an MBA.

Applicants should have the ability to teach a variety of courses in Health Care Administration. Candidates with expertise in healthcare finance, economics, accounting, policy or regulation are especially encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online delivery formats to support primarily the MBA in Health Care Administration. This faculty position may also involve teaching in the Masters in Health Care Administration (MHA) program as needed. The preferred candidate will demonstrate experience teaching and mentoring a diverse group of students. They should also be able to contribute to fostering diversity of the campus, curriculum discipline, or department.

Lecturer II – Sports Management

The Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship is searching for a Lecturer II in Sports Management beginning August 2026. This position supports delivering the BBA in Sports Management Program within the Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business & Entrepreneurship.

Qualified candidates should possess relevant academic credentials and experience, including expertise in sports analytics. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate sports management courses in face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats, with a focus on integrating analytical concepts and applications

Primary Duties:

 Teaching undergraduate courses in Sports Management, with the ability to integrate sports analytics concepts, delivered in multiple teaching formats.

· Serving as a member of the Sports Management faculty in the development, enhancement, and evaluation of Sports Management courses and the Program to continuously improve student learning outcomes/competency achievements and support the accreditation of the College.

· Contributing to and being responsible for overall student success by generating opportunities to enhance student learning outcomes, particularly in the area of sports analytics.

· Working collaboratively with COB colleagues and other academic personnel to conduct and oversee academic quality, including, but not limited to, program-level assessment related to Sports Management.

· Collaborating with COB Sports Management faculty in designing, planning, and evaluating student learning and program assessment, with a focus on analytical skills.

· Attending regular monthly departmental meetings and retreats, as schedule allows.

· Supporting the College of Business in service positions as needed.

Visiting Assistant Professor Sports Management

The Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor (non-tenure-track) to teach Sports Management with an anticipated start date of August 2026. To be appointed as a Visiting Assistant Professor, candidates must possess an earned doctorate degree in Sports Management or a related discipline. ABD candidates nearing completion will be considered. Professional experience in the sports industry is highly desired, as is an MBA or related master's degree.

Responsibilities:

Applicants should have the ability to teach a variety of courses in Sports Management. Candidates with expertise in areas such as sports marketing, finance, economics, law, or analytics are especially encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include teaching both undergraduate and potentially graduate courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online delivery formats to support relevant programs within the Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship. Assistant Professor of Economics

The Merrilee Alexander Kick (MAK) College of Business & Entrepreneurship is searching for an Assistant Professor in Economics beginning Fall 2026. Successful applicants for Assistant Professor (tenure-track) will possess an earned doctorate in Economics or a related discipline. ABD candidates near completion will be considered.

The Position

This is a full-time, tenure-track position. Faculty will be expected to perform the following duties:

• Serve as a core faculty member in the Department of Accounting and Finance, primarily based on the Denton campus, with the possibility of teaching on the Dallas or Houston campuses as needed.

• Teach primarily Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics at the undergraduate level, with the possibility of occasionally teaching upper-level undergraduate or graduate courses in the discipline.

• Be able to teach in online, hybrid, and face-to-face formats

• Participate in department, university, and professional service

• Maintain a strong research agenda, publishing scholarly work, and adhering to the College Faculty Qualifications and Engagement Policy for AACSB accreditation

• Support the University’s outreach by teaching dual credit Economics courses on an as needed basis to high school students in collaboration with local ISDs, on an as needed basis.

Associate/Full Professor - Chair of Accounting and Finance Department

The department chair, as academic component leader, facilitates the management of the department. To carry out this responsibility, the chair oversees, directly or indirectly, the daily progress toward achieving teaching, research, service, and strategic goals.

The department chair is charged with seeing the big picture: looking at the department as a whole and at the department's relationship to the College and University. Examples may include representing and advocating for your department and balancing that with the goals of the College/Dean’s Office, students, and market demands. The department chair is also charged with stewarding the day-to-day operation of the department, as well as maintaining reduced requirements as a faculty member (teaching half-time and continuing to publish per the Administrator requirements in the AACSB Faculty Qualifications policy)Specific Activities of the Department Chair include:

  • Teach two courses in each term (fall, spring and summer). 
  • Maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) classification according to College of Business AACSB policy for administrators who also have some teaching responsibilities.
  • Be active in service on the Council of Chairs and other roles supporting the College and University.
  • Lead the department in the enhancement of departmental curricula and initiatives for the improvement of instruction. This includes:
    • ensuring that course offerings for majors and non-majors are balanced in formats, times, and days offered, with consideration of student and faculty needs
    • supporting faculty members in their ability to teach effectively and improve curriculum
    • supporting faculty members’ innovation, engagement, and societal impact initiatives.
  • Work with the Dean on any financial/budgetary needs or challenges.
  • Establish Advisory Boards for the disciplines in the department
  • Ensure effective implementation of University, College, and Department policies.
  • Coordinate activities within the Department, including assessment, accreditation, and other College and University initiatives.
  • Exercise leadership in recruiting and retaining capable faculty.
  • Forward Departmental recommendations to the Dean for hiring full-time and part-time faculty.
  • Monitor the performance evaluation of full-time and part-time faculty.
  • Encourage continuous improvement of faculty performance by fostering and supporting good teaching, relevant research, and scholarly writing.
  • Make recommendations relative to tenure, promotion, reappointment, salary adjustment, and leaves of absence.
  • Review and forward requests for permission to travel for professional purposes per University policy.
  • Review and forward all faculty proposals for awards and leaves.
  • Arrange for representation for the department at official University and College functions such as commencement ceremonies, events, etc.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of faculty and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Monitor, with faculty, the academic progress of students.
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date faculty and student records.
  • Supervise and evaluate direct report staff.
  • Supervise the resolution of student grievances/grade appeals, following established procedures.
  • Schedule and preside over department meetings.
  • Serve as the primary Departmental contact for recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal relations that foster a professional working atmosphere.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chancellor, Provost, or Dean.

Budget & Finance Manager

The Budget & Finance Manager, will play a critical role in the financial operations of the Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship. This position is responsible for analyzing budgetary data, forecasting financial trends, identifying variances, and providing clear, actionable insights to support strategic decision-making within the College. The role also includes monitoring budget-to-actual performance, preparing financial reports, and offering support and training to departments on budget-related processes.

This position requires the ability to interpret organizational policies, procedures, and financial guidelines to provide accurate and effective guidance. The Manager will work closely with the Dean and College leadership to ensure financial integrity and efficiency. Performance is evaluated based on the successful completion of assignments and the impact of financial recommendations.

The essential duties for the budget & finance manager include:

  • Conducts budgetary and financial analyses, forecasts, and projections to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepares timely, professional financial reports to aid in planning and decision-making by College leadership.
  • Monitors and analyzes departmental operating budgets and supports departments with budget adjustments and transfers.
  • Produce a ROI report and cost benefit analysis when requested.
  • Responds to financial inquiries from faculty and staff regarding College-related expenditures.
  • Prepares contracts for procurement and others.
  • Supports the Dean’s Office with position control tracking, salary budgeting, and vacancy management.
  • Reviews payroll data and flags discrepancies or concerns.
  • Regularly prepares and communicates variance explanations related to College expenditures.
  • Produces the necessary documentation for both internal and external reports.
  • Provides training to College departments on financial systems, policies, and procedures, particularly in Oracle Cloud.
  • Meets monthly with the Dean for strategic planning.
  • Knowledgeable about the College’s fiscal policy and advises members of the leadership team on such.
  • Able to read the University’s financial documents that are available to the College and analyze the potential impact on the College.
  • Collaborates with the Dean and other leaders to develop and refine procedures for identifying and addressing significant budget variances.
  • Assists in the annual budget development process for the College.
