Accounting & Finance

The Department of Accounting and Finance prepares students for life-long occupations with endless possibilities. Whether you aim for a career in financial services, corporate management, governmental leadership, investment planning, not-for-profit administration, financial analytics, or other types of financial management, an accounting or finance degree will open doors.

Accounting and finance work has changed drastically in recent years. Today, TWU accounting and finance students learn skills to make them critical thinkers, analysts, strategic problem solvers, and effective communicators using financial knowledge, technical aptitude, and interpersonal skill to master complex business challenges. Interaction with financial professionals, micro-internships, and full internship programs help TWU accounting and finance students transition easily from backpacks to briefcases. We encourage students with other majors to consider a minor in accounting or finance, which will add tremendous value to any degree.

TWU’s Four-Plus-One Accounting Program allows students to earn both the BBA in Accounting and MSA degrees in five years. The program provides required educational requirements for the Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, and many other professional financial designations.
