Our Facilities
So much of your student life happens outside of a classroom. It’s on the basketball court during an intramural game or in a shared meeting space for a campus organization.
Denton Campus Facilities
Our 270-acre campus in Denton is everything you want a college campus to be — safe, beautiful, and with all the amenities of an active student body. Here’s a few of the facilities you’ll find when you come to Denton:
Fitness and Recreation Center
The Fitness and Recreation Center includes more than 8,000 square feet of weights and cardio equipment, a NCAA basketball court, and three multipurpose exercise rooms. It’s the heart of our fitness community where we offer programs and events throughout the year to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Climbing Wall
Our 30-foot-high climbing wall offers 2,000 square feet of climbing space with routes for beginners and advanced climbers. The wall includes a slack line, rappelling station, lead climbing routes, and a 15-foot bouldering area.
Intramural Field
Our intramural field sits on the northeast corner of campus, offering opportunities to play in many intramural leagues, or rent it for an outdoor activity you may want to schedule there.
Outdoor Adventure Center
The Outdoor Adventure Center provides outdoor equipment rentals including kayaks, tents, bikes, and more. All equipment and resources (such as travel books, DVDs and magazines) can be checked out for free to current TWU students, faculty, and staff with a valid ID.
Indoor Pool
The eight lanes of our indoor pool are free to use for all TWU students during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Located in Pioneer Hall, the pool offers opportunities for recreational swim, group exercise classes, and lap swim.
Sand Volleyball Court
The outdoor sand volleyball court is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. It’s located near Stark and Guinn Halls on the north end of campus.
Tennis Courts
Our eight tennis courts are located behind Pioneer Hall, next to the TWU Softball Field. The courts are open to all students, faculty, staff, and TWU Fitness and Recreation members. Racquets and balls can be checked out on first-come, first-served basis at the Fitness and Recreation Center.
Houston Center
Make use of fitness facilities at our Houston Center, open six days a week. The center features cardio and weight machines, along with locker rooms for men and women. It is located on the second floor.
Dallas Center
A men’s and women’s locker room, cardio equipment, free weights and various exercise equipment is free to use for all students at the TWU T. Boone Pickens Institute of Health Sciences-Dallas Center. The fitness center is located on the third floor.
