Student Government Association
What is SGA?
The Student Government Association (SGA) at Texas Woman's University represents all members of the student body through its various branches. Whether you are a new, returning or graduate student, every student has an opportunity to shape the campus community by participating and getting involved. SGA at TWU is unique in that it includes the following branches:
TWU SGA Executive Board
The SGA Executive Board is comprised of the President, Vice President of Internal Affairs, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President of Public Relations and the presidents of each of the branches mentioned below.
TWU Student Senate
The Senate is the legislative branch of SGA and serves as the active voice of the student body. Notably the Senate passed legislation regarding TWU's smoking policy that was put into effect June 1, 2011, as well as adding campus amenities to enrich the lives of our students.
TWU Student Organizations Council
The Student Organizations Council is the segment of SGA that works directly with and for student organizations. This entity also provides funding for student organizations through the Student Leadership Development Fund (SLDF) and the Student Organization Development Fund (SOPF).
