The School of Occupational Therapy at Texas Woman’s University is seeking faculty for each campus who will thrive in a climate of intellectual vitality and academic excellence, and will support our innovative and community-centered programs with teaching, scholarship, and service activities.

TWU’s occupational therapy program in the College of Health Sciences is a rich scholarly environment offering the entry-level MOT while transitioning to an entry-level OTD, post-professional OTD and PhD in Occupational Therapy degrees. Texas Woman’s is a publicly funded co-educational institution designated as a Doctoral/research-intensive University by the Carnegie Foundation. The main campus is in Denton, with campuses in Dallas and Houston located within regional medical centers.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Full-time, clinical/tenure track positions at the instructor, assistant or associate rank in the School of Occupational Therapy. Contracts are 9-month with ample opportunity for summer teaching. Tenure-track opportunities will add to the research enterprise with synergistic connections to teaching and service. Clinical responsibilities emphasize teaching and include scholarly work and participation in university and school service. Experience with children and youth a plus in Houston, rehabilitation skills in Denton, and psychosocial and rehabilitation practice in Dallas.   • A doctorate in occupational therapy or related field required (may consider those in progress with impending graduation).
  • Must hold or be eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the State of Texas.

Experiential Learning Support Specialist


EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressive responsibilities in clerical duties, preferably with experience in database management, event coordination, and inventory management.

DUTIES: Performs responsible and complex office support duties for the Associate Director of the School of Occupational Therapy in Dallas with the purpose of increasing the effectiveness of occupational therapy programs in Dallas, as well as facilitating smooth operations for the fieldwork and capstone administration in Dallas and Houston. The employee is required to assume considerable responsibility for office efficiency and database management. Work assignments involve continuing responsibility for designated activities and may result from collaboration with the Academic Component Administrator. A thorough knowledge of the policies and procedures of the employing unit as well as a familiarity with overall University policy is necessary to conduct the assigned work. The individual is responsible for determining methods and procedures to be used, priority of work assignments and necessity for review by the administrator. Work includes public contact in interpreting and promoting the department's programs and rendering administrative decisions. Work is performed under general supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.
