Roster Changes Rule

Roster changes may be made until the first Friday after the first game of the league with the approval of the intramural supervisor.

Non TWU Affiliate vs Non Member Rule

  • Non affiliate is anyone that is NOT a TWU student, faculty, staff, or alumni.
  • Non member is anyone that does NOT have a TWU Fitness and Rec membership including faculty, staff, and alumni.
  • An intramural team shall have no more than two (2) non affiliates on their roster.
  • An intramural team shall have no more than two (2) non members in addition to not affiliates. There may be 2 non affiliates on the roster AND 2 non members on a roster.
  • A sponsored membership for fitness and recreation members must be as long or longer than a half semester to count for the member pricing for intramural leagues.
ex. a person with a sponsored week membership may not sign up for intramural leagues for the member pricing.

Swing Player Rule

A swing player is designed to help teams that are at risk of a forfeit. They are meant to play as an unofficial player for a team that may need an extra player in order to compete.
A swing player must:
  • Not be registered on any other official team
  • Fill out the liability waiver
  • Pay $5 to enter
  • Playing time is not guaranteed but is likely
  • Be in attendance in order to check in with a supervisor to inform them you are available to play
  • It is not necessary to be at every week of league play
  • A registered team may use a swing player once throughout the league season
  • If a swing player is used by team A in week one, they may no longer have access to a swing player for the remainder of the league. Use your swing player wisely.
  • If team A has a double header on week one the swing player may play with them for those two games.
  • A swing player may play on multiple teams throughout the league season.
Swing player John Doe may play on team A and team B on week one of games given they are not playing at the same time.
Swing player John Doe may play on team A on week one and team B on week two.

Forfeit rule

  • A team must have the required number of participants to begin a game at scheduled game time (or grace period provided by the head official of the game)
  • One team forfeit will remove the team from playoffs
  • Two forfeits removes the team from the remainder of the league
  • Notice must be given to the supervisor of intramural programs in order to receive a default
  • One default will allow the team to stay in the league
  • The second default will be considered a forfeit and results in removal from playoffs but not necessarily from the league

Forfeit Fine Rule

  • If there are not enough players to begin a game, the game will be ruled as a forfeit.
  • Attendance will be taken before all intramural league games
  • When a team forfeits the team's players who are not in attendance and did not provide prior notice will receive a fine on their account with the Fitness and Recreation center.
  • If a player is not checked in or has not given prior notice to the intramural supervisor and this leads to a team forfeit the player not in attendance will receive a fine of $5 for every absence they receive (max of $10 because the forfeit rule is that if a team forfeits twice the will be removed from the league completely).
  • A note will be placed on the participants profile. This fine must be paid before entering the facility or enrolling in any other Fitness and Recreation program.
  • If a team is disbanded due to a double forfeiture the players that have been in attendance will be placed on new teams for the remainder of the league.
