Denton Campus Facilities

Our 270-acre campus in Denton is everything you want a college campus to be — safe, beautiful, and with all the amenities of an active student body. Here’s a few of the facilities you’ll find:

Outdoor Adventure Center

The Outdoor Adventure Center provides outdoor equipment rentals including kayaks, tents, bikes, and more. All equipment and resources (such as travel books, DVDs and magazines) can be checked out for free to current TWU students, faculty, and staff with a valid ID.

Intramural Field

Our intramural field sits on the northeast corner of campus, offering opportunities to play in many intramural leagues, or rent it for an outdoor activity you may want to schedule there.

Outside of Fitness center

Fitness and Recreation Center

The Fitness and Recreation Center includes more than 8,000 square feet of weights and cardio equipment, a NCAA basketball court, and three multipurpose exercise rooms. It’s the heart of our fitness community where we offer programs and events throughout the year to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Tennis Courts

Our eight tennis courts are located behind Pioneer Hall, next to the TWU Softball Field. The courts are open to all students, faculty, staff, and TWU Fitness and Recreation members. Racquets and balls can be checked out on first-come, first-served basis at the Fitness and Recreation Center.

Indoor Pool

The eight lanes of our indoor pool are free to use for all TWU students during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Located in Pioneer Hall, the pool offers opportunities for recreational swim, group exercise classes, and lap swim.

Sand volleyball court

Sand Volleyball Court

The outdoor sand volleyball court is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. It’s located near Stark and Guinn Halls on the north end of campus.

Climbing Wall

Our 30-foot-high climbing wall offers 2,000 square feet of climbing space with routes for beginners and advanced climbers. The wall includes a slack line, rappelling station, lead climbing routes, and a 15-foot bouldering area.
