Summer camps

Pragmatics Camp (Pioneer PAL Camp)

  • Ages 7–12
  • June 13th–June 17th
  • Monday through Friday
  • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Cost: $125

Pioneer PAL (Pragmatics and Language) Camp is a one-week pragmatics camp for children ages 7–12. Camp will focus on giving children the tools to communicate effectively in a variety of social situations (positive and negative) that arise in everyday life through modeling, facilitation, and group practice of specific skills so that they can build confidence and positive peer relationships. The children and families will be provided with ideas for home practice to help generalize skills learned.

CHAMP Camp

  • Ages 6–12
  • June 21 – July 8
  • Monday through Friday
  • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Cost: $275

CHAMP Camp is a 3-week intensive camp for children with a confirmed diagnosis of Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) and no underlying physical or psychological conditions. This camp will incorporate Integral Stimulation Therapy paired with language and literacy intervention in large and small groups. Large group thematic activities along with fun and creative motor activities will also be included. Parent education will be provided each day by a supervisor and graduate student to provide up-to-date information on CAS as well as carry-over activities and strategies for generalization to the home.

“Calling All Detectives” Literacy Camp

  • Ages 8–11 (Grades 3-5)
  • July 11 – July 22 (pre-camp assessment July 7–8)
  • Monday through Friday
  • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Cost: $250

Come join us for two weeks of investigative fun exploring the mysteries of successful reading and spelling skills. Our camp detectives will (1) crack the code of sound awareness, (2) decipher word parts to improve vocabulary, decoding and spelling, and (3) unlock meaning in reading comprehension.

Preschool Language Camp (PLC)

  • Ages 3–5
  • July 25 – July 29
  • Monday through Friday
  • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Cost: $125

PLC is a fun one-week camp that emphasizes language and social skills. The curriculum focuses on reinforcing and building upon basic speech and language skills.

Individual Therapy

  • All ages
  • June 13 – Aug 4, 2022
  • Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • 45-minute sessions
  • Cost: $225

Slots are available for individual therapy for children and adults in the areas of speech disorders (including apraxia, articulation and phonological disorders), voice, fluency and language.

Special programs

Our Speech, Language & Hearing Clinic offers a variety of programs throughout the year. Sessions are led by master's level graduate students under the direct supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists.

All programs are held in the TWU Speech, Language & Hearing Clinic on the Denton campus.
