2026 summer camps

Our Speech, Language & Hearing Clinic offers a variety of summer camps. Sessions are led by master's level graduate students under the direct supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists. All camps are held in the TWU Speech, Language & Hearing Clinic in the Health Sciences Center on the Denton campus.

Literacy Camp

  • June 8-18, 2026
  • Monday through Friday (1st week), Monday through Thursday (2nd week)
  • 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Cost: TBD
  • Camper: Students who are Deaf/hh (IEP or 504) ages from pre-K to school-age

Our Literacy Camp is designed to build reading skills while empowering children to become confident self-advocates. Through engaging, structured activities centered around books featuring heroic deaf characters, students will strengthen their literacy abilities while also seeing themselves represented in powerful and meaningful ways. The superhero theme brings an added layer of fun and motivation, encouraging campers to view themselves as capable, strong, and unique learners. Preschool Articulation, Language and Literacy Camp

  • July 6-17, 2026 
  • Monday through Friday (2 weeks)
  • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • Cost: $300
  • Ages: 3 to early school age

This camp is designed for children with mild language disorders and moderate to severe speech sound disorders. It takes an intensive therapy approach that integrates individualized motor learning and functional communication into engaging, play-based activities. Through a combination of music, motor, and literacy activities, children participate in both individual and group therapy sessions.For more information, contact Kristi Cersley at kcersley@twu.edu or comsclinic@twu.edu

Please note: For each camp, a pre-camp assessment may be required to evaluate each child's current abilities and inform individualized instruction. If needed, you may be contacted to schedule a screening during the week prior to the start of camp.

Individual Therapy

  • All ages
  • June 10 to July 30
  • Mondays and Wednesdays 
  • 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. 
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. 
  • Cost: $225

Please email comsclinic@twu.edu or call 940-898-2285 for more information about individual therapy for children and adults in the areas of speech disorders (including apraxia, articulation and phonological disorders), voice, fluency and language. All individual therapy sessions are 45 minutes long.
