TWU developing pilot training program

Aviation is projected to be among the nation’s hottest workforce demands in 2023. And it’s a workforce need that Texas Woman’s University is working to address, said Rama Yelkur, dean of the College of Business at Texas Woman’s. Yelkur was one of four business leaders in higher education to speak on a panel at the Invest: Dallas/Fort Worth 2023 Launch Conference on Dec. 1 at the Omni Las Colinas Hotel.

TWU alum becomes first woman to hold chief judge post

Texas Woman’s alumna Alia Moses made history in 2001 when she became the first woman to be named a U.S. district judge in the sprawling Western District of Texas. She made history again on Nov. 18 when she became the first woman to assume the role of chief judge in the district.

TWU students tour Peterbilt facility

Members of the Texas Woman’s student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management visited the Peterbilt facility and were able to get a behind-the-scenes look at the human resources operation in Denton this fall semester.

TWU alumna Tiana James a rising marketing star

Tiana James's road to the L.A. fashion scene is one less taken: Edmond, Oklahoma, to Albuquerque, New Mexico, through the Texas Panhandle and finally to Dallas-Fort Worth.

"You can call me a bit of a nomad," said James, a 2014 graduate of the Texas Woman's University fashion merchandising program.

According to Ad Age magazine, you can also call her a rising star in the ultra-competitive business of public relations and marketing. In September, Ad Age named James one its 2022 40 Under 40 honorees.
