What you need to know
At TWU, a general online Graduate Student Orientation is coordinated by the Graduate School. You will receive information about the orientation via email in early August.
In addition, your academic department may offer a program-specific orientation. Be on the lookout for communication from your department regarding what to expect and how to prepare.

How to participate in Graduate Student Orientation
- You will receive an email about New Graduate Student Orientation in early August.
- On August 18 log into Canvas at twu.instructure.com, using your Pioneer Portal username and password. On your Dashboard select the course titled New Graduate Student Orientation
- Orientation materials will be there for you in the Canvas site, where you’ll also have opportunities to engage with other students on in the discussion board.
- On Wednesday, August 19 at 6 p.m. we will have a virtual session so that you can hear from current TWU graduate students. The panelists will share their experiences with you. We will have a Q & A option for you to ask your own questions.

Guide to Online Learning: This is an excellent resource for all students taking online, in-person, or hybrid courses. Information includes what to expect from an online course and information about Canvas and other key services available online.
IT Service Desk: This is the place to receive technology support. You can also call or live chat with a TWU employee about any technology issues. Visit TWU Technology or call 940-898-3971.

Campus Alliance for Resource Education (CARE): CARE is a great place to start if you have questions or concerns and are not sure where to begin. The CARE office has a wealth of information and takes great pride in providing exceptional customer service.
