Welcome to digital learning at Texas Woman’s University. 

Whether you are taking a fully online, hybrid, or technology-enhanced course, this guide will help you get started and stay on track throughout the semester.

Many TWU courses use Canvas, the university’s learning management system, to organize course materials, communication, assignments, and grades. This guide will introduce you to the tools, expectations, and resources that support your success in a digital learning environment 

Before you begin taking online courses, you might consider taking the SmarterMeasure self-assessment, SmarterMeasure can help you understand your strengths in areas such as time management, motivation, learning preferences, technical skills, and access to reliable technology. Reviewing your results can help you identify strategies for success before classes begin.

Start Here: Prepare for Your Course

Before the semester begins, take a few minutes to set up your student accounts.

✔ Create your Pioneer Portal account
✔ Activate your TWU Google email account
✔ Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)—both Google and Microsoft 365 authentication

Getting prepared early helps you stay organized and reduces stress during the first week of class.
