Elkins awarded $370,000 grant to develop anti-bias curriculum

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) has awarded Aaron Elkins, PhD, and two colleagues a $370,000 grant to develop a curriculum for universities and high schools that teaches students how to recognize their own biases when gathering information.

Beatrice Canales, Melinda Rietkerk and Asha Norman were all recognized with alumni awards from the School of Library and Information Studies. Alumni awards were presented at the SLIS reception in April at the 2024 TLA Conference in San Antonio.
