Admission into the EPP (Undergraduate)

To start your 3000-level EDUC courses and take your certification exams, you must first be officially admitted to the Educator Preparation Program.

The Golden Rule: You must apply the semester BEFORE you plan to start your upper-level classes.

TExES Testing Deadline

Clinical teaching candidates must have passed all certification exams before applying to clinical teaching.

NOTE: For Fall 2026, the certification exam deadline remains November 1. Beginning Fall 2027, the deadline will be moved to October 1.

Students who are a part of the Grow Your Own programs:

• Houston ISD Grow Your Own (GYO): April 1
• Tomball ISD & Aldine ISD Grow Your Own (GYO): June 1

Applying for Clinical Teaching

Clinical teaching candidates must have passed all certification exams and have documentation of scores when submitting your application by the due date.
