Transfer Students

Transferring from a Texas community college to a four-year university's Educator Preparation Program (EPP) is highly structured to ensure your academic course credits transition seamlessly into a teaching degree.

Completing your transfer to a university does not automatically place you in the teaching program. You must apply for formal admission to the Educator Preparation Program (EPP), usually after you have earned 45-60 credit hours (typically at the end of your sophomore year or at the start of your Junior year). 

3 Key Reminders for Transfer Students

1. All courses except developmental and repeated courses will figure into your overall GPA, which must remain above at least 2.50 (most WECM courses do not transfer).
2. Visit with an advisor before registering for your first semester. If Core Complete and/or College Ready at your Texas community college, you are Core Complete and/or College Ready at TWU. If the electronic degree plan doesn’t say so, please ask an advisor before registering for classes.
