Certification Areas
The Educator Preparation Program at TWU offers initial teacher certification and professional certification through several degree programs across multiple colleges.
The following will indicate colleges that house the certification and degree:
- COPE: College of Professional Education
- CAS: College of Arts & Sciences
- CHS: College of Health Sciences
Students pursuing degrees in the College of Arts and Sciences or the College of Health Sciences should contact the appropriate advisor listed here, and schedule a meeting with OEPS.

Early Childhood and Elementary School Options
Early Childhood: PK-3
All EC: PK-3 certifications are available through the Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.
- EC: PK-3 with Bilingual COPE
- EC: PK-3 with English as a Second Language (ESL) COPE
- EC: PK-3 with Special Education COPE
Early Childhood - 6th Grade: EC-6
All EC-6 certifications are available through the Bachelor of Science in Education.
