Danza Chikawa performs at TWU

Danza Chikawa recently brought its spectacular traditional Aztec costumes and dances to the Texas Woman's University Dance Building's black box studio.

Betting on yourself

In January, approximately 30 people checked their doubt at the door and tested their courage in an audition for roles in the final production of the Texas Woman's University Theatre's 2022-23 season, Head Over Heels, which will run April 21-23 and 28-30 at the RedBud Theatre.

"This is what it's like to be a professional"

Dancer, choreographer, teacher and mentor Abdel Salaam spent a week at the TWU Division of Dance, speaking with students and helping a group of student dancers prepare for the 2023 Spring DanceMakers.

Now playing: screen dance

The Division of Dance is leading the way in the development of screen dance in curriculum, and TWU students have produced two screen dance festivals, one of which will have a showing on April 6 on campus.

TWU produces Wind Symphony's first CD

Walking on Shattered Glass is the first recording by the Texas Woman's University Wind Symphony, and the eight works on the nine-track CD are a rarity: a compilation of the works of all women composers. The CD contains eight recordings made in a studio environment in the Margo Jones Performance Hall and one live performance.
