SLIS active at TLA 2024

The annual Texas Library Association (TLA) conference is a regular highlight in the calendar for the School of Library and Information Studies at TWU. That was the case again in 2024 as representatives from the school attended the conference in San Antonio on April 16-19. 

Polk joins SLIS faculty

WyLaina Polk, MLS, joined the SLIS faculty in January 2024 as a visiting lecturer. Polk, a 2003 graduate of the University of North Texas, has worked in public libraries as a children’s librarian, teen librarian, circulation supervisor, and manager.

Orientation webinars slated for May and August

The School of Library & Information Studies has announced dates for online orientation webinars for both Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 admits. 

MLS student earns Career Development Grant

Urania Chambers, a current Master of Library Science student, has been awarded a Career Development Grant for $18,500 from the American Association of University Women to fund her education and a project.

Lee wins Best Presentation Award

Hyuk-Jin Lee, PhD, was awarded the Best Presentation Award at the International Conference on Cultural Heritage (ICCH 2023, Oct, 30-31).
