SLIS opens certificate in community information

SLIS opened a brand new certificate program focused in community information in Fall 2025. The certificate will be available with the Master of Library Science or as its own Post-Master's Certificate in Community Information.

SLIS student association earns national recognition

The Texas Woman’s University student chapter of the American Library Association (ALA) was named runner-up for the 2025 Student Chapter of the Year Award by the New Members Round Table of ALA.

SLIS named 2025 Alumni Award winners

Shweta Shroff, Krystal Smith and Tammi Halliburton took the honors for this year's alumni awards from the School of Library and Information Studies. The alumni awards were presented at the SLIS reception at the Texas Library Association Annual Conference April 3, 2025.

COPE announces 2025-26 Research & Innovation Fellows

The College of Professional Education at Texas Woman’s University continues its Research & Innovation Fellowships initiative this year with assistant professors Rebecca Lucero Jones, PhD (Research) and Tara Zimmerman, PhD (Innovation). The Research & Innovation Fellowships are designed to support tenure-track faculty pursuing new research, grant-related work, and innovative projects.

American Library Association grants SLIS continued accreditation

The Master of Library Science (MLS) program in the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman’s University gained continued accreditation status from the American Library Association.
