Portuguese for Spanish Speakers

In Fall 2024, TWU will offer LANG 4903 - Special Topics: Portuguese for Spanish Speakers*.

LANG 4903 - Special Topics: Portuguese for Spanish Speakers* - Communication in Portuguese using all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Basics of Portuguese grammar and selected cultural aspects of the Lusophone world, with special emphasis on Brazil. Intensive introductory course for students with previous instruction in Spanish, including native and heritage speakers of Spanish or other romance languages. Prerequisite: SPAN 2033 or permission of instructor. Three lecture hours a week. Credit: Three hours.

* - This course will not count towards degree completion, nor is it eligible for financial aid unless a student’s degree plan has open electives or the student receives approval and their advisor completes an Undergraduate Degree Plan Substitution form with the Registrar’s Office.
