Alternative Format Materials
Students with documented print disabilities that preclude the student from using standard print, may be eligible to request required course materials in alternative formats such as:
- Large print
- Electronic text
- Braille
Requesting Alternative Format Materials
Alternative format materials can be requested in myDSS. We have created a short video to show you how to use the alternative formats module. Once your request is submitted, the DSS office will process the request within three business days. Allow up to three weeks for receipt of the texts. Please note, the student must submit proof of purchase before the DSS office will release the alternative format text.
Please contact your coordinator if you think you qualify for alternative format materials.
This non-profit organization has a large collection of book titles already in digital format. DSS can provide eligible students with a free membership when a publisher decides to distribute their e-text through the Bookshare library.
Learning Ally is an online audiobook repository. DSS can provide eligible students with a free membership when a publisher decides to distribute the audiobooks through Learning Ally.
