Resources for Faculty and Staff
TWU CAPS is committed to working collaboratively with faculty and staff to support student success. Due to frequent student interaction, faculty and staff are often in a position to observe when students may be struggling with various aspects of their lives. Although we will be glad to help in any way we can, please understand that we are ethically obligated to maintain student confidentiality unless we have been given written permission to release student information to approved parties or in cases mandated by state law.
Should you refer a student to CAPS and are wondering about their follow through, we recommend you contact the student directly, as we cannot tell you whether the student has made an appointment or not.
You are welcome to share information regarding a student with CAPS staff. However, CAPS staff must abide by the guidelines noted above and will not be able to respond without the student’s consent.
CAPS services are for students only. Services for faculty and staff are handled through TWU Human Resources.
