TWU Legacy Leaders share their experiences of preparing for college

Often the key to success in college is taking advantage of the many preparatory opportunities available in high school, especially dual high school and college credit offered by Early College High Schools (ECHS), as four Texas Woman’s Legacy Leaders students discovered. Thanks to the Center for Student Leadership, they not only have continued to thrive in college, but they also had the opportunity to share their experiences and inspire others as well.

This speaker series is hosted by the College of Business and the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership. It is designed to create dialogue about the opportunities and challenges for women in leadership. This series is for women managers and executives as well as students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends.

 

TWU leadership chapter earns national recognition

The Texas Woman’s chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) achieved the status of Founder’s List by demonstrating outstanding effort in the area of chapter best practices and completing its 10 Pillars of Success. The TWU chapter is among the top chapters nationwide being recognized for their commitment and effort to hit this milestone.

New Center for Student Leadership director named

Texas Woman’s University has named Lawrencina Mason Oramalu as the new director of the Center for Student Leadership, effective March 22.

Fashion student designs store for children with disabilities, wins scholarship

TWU student Taylor Davis, a double-major in fashion design and fashion merchandising, was awarded first place and a $2,500 scholarship in the digital merchandising store planning category of this year’s Fashion Group International (FGI) of Dallas Scholarship Competition. Davis’ winning design concept, “Metrix,” imagines an adaptive clothing boutique designed for children with special needs.
