Eased Admissions Requirements

Eligible Programs

MEd in Early Childhood Education (100% online and accelerated): Automatic admission for students with a BS in Education, Child Development, Family Studies or closely related field and a minimum GPA of 3.0

MS in Child Development (100% online and accelerated): Automatic admission for students with a BS in Child Development, Family Studies or closely related field and a minimum GPA of 3.5

MEd in Teaching, Leading, and Collaboration (100% online): Automatic admission for Students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of study

MS in Family Studies (100% online): Automatic admission for students with a BS in Child Development, Family Studies or a closely related field and a minimum GPA of 3.5

PhD in Marriage & Family Therapy: Automatic admission for alumni of the MS in Marriage & Family Therapy students with a GPA of 3.5 and letter of recommendation from a current Marriage & Family Therapy faculty member (limited to graduates from the last 5 years). Current MS in Marriage & Family Therapy students can receive early conditional admittance up to 2 semesters prior to completing their MS degree.

MA in Library Science: No GRE requirement

Master of Library Science: No GRE requirement

MA in Multilingual and Multicultural Studies: Automatic admission for students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of study.

MS in Nutrition: No GRE requirement

MS in Exercise and Sports Nutrition: No GRE requirement

MA in Sociology: No GRE requirement

MA in Theatre (face-to-face or fully online): Minimum GPA of 3.5 accepted

MA in History: No GRE requirement, 3.5 GPAs accepted and a waived writing sample

MA in Political Science: No GRE requirement, 3.5 GPAs accepted and waived writing sample

PSM in Biotechnology: Automatic admission for alumni with a minimum 3.2 GPA and letter grade of ‘B’ or better in BIOL 4813 Molecular and Cellular Biology: Gene Expression; waived resume

Business professional in an office setting.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) (100% online or hybrid): Automatic admission for students with a bachelor’s degree in business and a minimum GPA of 3.0; Other majors or GPAs of 2.5-2.99 receive conditional admission

Master of Healthcare Administration (100% online or hybrid): Minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of study
