Practicum
LS 5843 Practicum Course/Field Experience
- A 3-credit-hour course (LS 5843) required for graduation
- A 120 hour, professionally supervised practicum in an approved, public, academic or special library appropriate to SLIS coursework and area of specialization, or a Practicum Project
- A 160-hour professionally supervised practicum in an approved Texas school library for all candidates seeking Texas School Librarian Certification
- An opportunity for TWU SLIS students to apply academic knowledge, to practice newly acquired skills, and to perfect a professional manner
Practicum Application Deadlines
Fall Semester Practicum – July 1st
Spring Semester Practicum – November 1st
Summer Semester Practicum – April 1st
