TWU alumna Merrilee Kick turns class project into multi-million-dollar business

In 2009, Merrilee Kick was a high school teacher enrolled in TWU’s Executive MBA program wanting to make more money to support her family. Things were tough, and she needed a great business plan both for her capstone project and her future. What she got was the inspiration and drive that would completely change her life.

TWU’s Nancy Bocskor named a Dole Fellow

This fall, Nancy Bocskor, director of the Texas Woman’s University Center for Women in Politics & Public Policy, will serve as a fellow for the for the Lawrence, Kansas-based Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics, leading a group series called “Create Change: Women, Democracy and Global Politics.”

Center for Women in Business changes name to Center for Women Entrepreneurs

The Center for Women in Business has a new name—it is now the Center for Women Entrepreneurs. This change more clearly reflects the work that the center does to facilitate economic growth among women entrepreneurs in Texas.

TWU launches Nancy P. and Thaddeus E. Paup Lecture Series

A new lecture series, hosted by the Institute for Women’s Leadership at Texas Woman’s University, will launch Sept. 19 in North Texas. Created through a donation from Nancy P. and Thaddeus E. Paup, the series kicks off with a talk by Kathryn Childers, who was hired in 1970 as one of the first five female U.S. Secret Service agents.
