2025 TWU Service Awards and Retiree Recognition Ceremony

The 2025 TWU Service Awards and Retiree Recognition Ceremony will be held in May to honor the dedication and commitment of our faculty and staff. This annual event celebrates milestones of service, and this year, we’re making some important changes to ensure a more inclusive recognition process.

What’s New for 2025?

This year, we’re shifting our focus from requiring continuous service to recognizing cumulative service. This means that breaks in service (such as leaves of absence or returning to TWU after working elsewhere) will no longer impact eligibility. Employees will now be recognized based on the total number of years they’ve contributed to the university, regardless of interruptions in their career.

As a result, some employees may be recognized for milestones they weren’t expecting, while a small number of individuals who should be honored may be missing from the list. We are committed to ensuring that all deserving individuals are included, and if you believe you should be recognized but are not listed, we’ve set up a form to correct information or to add names.

Award Milestones

Employees will be recognized with a special pin designed to reflect their years of service. The pins are created in homage to TWU’s seal and include precious metals and jewel insets.

5 years: silver-plated pin
10 years: gold-plated pin with ruby inset
15 years: gold-plated pin with sapphire inset
20 years: gold-plated pin with emerald inset
25 years: gold-plated pin with diamond inset
30 years: gold-filled pin with diamond inset
35 years: gold and silver pin with diamond inset
40 years: 10k gold pin with diamond inset
45 years: 10k gold pin with 5 diamond insets
50 years: 10k gold pin with 6 diamond insets
Retirement: Crystal bowl etched with the university seal

The TWU 2025 Master List for Service and Retirement reflects those being honored at the upcoming ceremonies.

Denton Campus: Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 2 p.m. (Hubbard Hall - Student Union, Southwest Ballroom)
Houston Campus: Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 1 p.m.
Dallas Campus: Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 12 p.m.
