Brandi Faulkner, a former history student, recently accepted a position as a library director at Ranger College.

Brittney Martin, who received a bachelor of science in history and a master of arts in history and government has been hired as an Upper School history teacher, as well as the volleyball and basketball coach at The Selwyn College Preparatory School in Denton. For the past year, Brittney has worked in the office of the TWU Leadership Institute and is also completing her master of arts in education.

Joan Johnson, who received a bachelor of arts in history and a master of arts in government, has been made chair of the Department of Government, Economics and Paralegal Studies at Tarrant County College's northeast campus.

Holly and Jeremy Dawson, former History & Government students, are now teaching history and government at NCTC in Corinth, and were recently featured in an article on our TWU Alumni Relations page.

Sam Childers received his bachelor of science in history in 1995. Since graduating, he has served as the communications manager for Old Red Museum, as the director of public programs and marketing manager for the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza and as the director of development for the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum in Atlanta. He is a contributing writer and editorial assistant to Legacies: A History Journal for Dallas and North Central Texas, has served on the steering committee for the Dallas Legacies History Conference and currently serves on the boards of the Lake Highlands Historical Association and the Friends of the SMU Libraries. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and for several years was a judge for the annual Wilder Museum Publication Awards for the Texas Association of Museums. His book Historic Hotels of Dallas was released in February 2010.
