Individual Student Leader Awards
Glenda Brock Simmons Community Service Award Criteria
- Utilized and/or enhanced pathways for collaborative relationships between Texas Woman’s University and community organizations such as Denton ISD, city/county partnerships, nonprofits, etc.
- Demonstrated a self-initiated nature of service beyond the TWU community.
- Exuded a servant leadership mentality when approaching all opportunities to serve others.
- If you are nominating your self, you must upload a letter of recommendation.
Emerging Leader of the Year Award Criteria
- Began their personal student leadership experience at TWU in the past year.
- Modeled the way of getting involved on campus for fellow peers both in and out of the classroom.
- Successfully explored and practiced the balance between academic efforts and co-curricular leadership opportunities at TWU.
- If you are nominating your self, you must upload a letter of recommendation.
Outstanding Student Leader Award Criteria
- Demonstrated the most respected form of student leadership at TWU for more than one year by:
- Continuously holding both themselves and their fellow peers to the highest standards through behaviors and actions consistent with the core values of TWU.
- Sought out and provided opportunities for others to learn and develop skills within student leadership.
- Mastered the balance of academic and co-curricular efforts at TWU as well as life outside of TWU.
- Explored how they will be an influential leader in their community beyond their time at TWU.
- If you are nominating your self, you must upload a letter of recommendation.
Campus Leader with a Heart - Student Criteria
- Student is currently enrolled in classes on the TWU Denton Campus.
- Exemplifies the concept of servant leadership – became a leader as a way to serve others
- Has impacted their campus community behind the scenes and/or at the forefront of initiatives – always leading with the welfare of others in mind.
- Understands the importance of others, puts the needs of others first and helps people develop & perform optimally in order to bring about positive social change.
- Often an “unsung hero”, but whose leadership made a lasting impact on those around them and on the institution as a whole.
Faculty or Staff Awards
Campus Leader with a Heart - Faculty/Staff Criteria
- Faculty/staff award goes to currently employed TWU faculty or staff members on the Denton campus.
- Exemplifies the concept of servant leadership – became a leader as a way to serve others
- Has impacted their campus community behind the scenes and/or at the forefront of initiatives – always leading with the welfare of others in mind.
- Understands the importance of others, puts the needs of others first and helps people develop & perform optimally in order to bring about positive social change.
- Often an “unsung hero”, but whose leadership made a lasting impact on those around them and on the institution as a whole.
Outstanding Faculty or Staff Student Organization Advisor of The Year Award Criteria
- Served as an official Advisor with a TWU chartered or University sanctioned organization for at least one year.
- Contributed to positive growth of the organization during the 2022 calendar year (January 2022- December 2022) alongside the organization’s officers and members.
- Intentionally guided the organization’s officers to remain aligned with the core values (Opportunity, Collaboration, Excellence, Creativity, Well-being, Caring, Diversity) of Texas Woman’s University.
Student Organization Awards
Glenda Brock Simmons Student Organization Community Service Award Criteria
- Exceeded organization’s minimum requirement/recommendation of opportunities for officers and members to serve community organizations such as Denton ISD, city/county partnerships, nonprofits, etc.
- Exemplified a core value of community service for the entire organization and continuously encouraged officers and members to live according to these organizational values.
Outstanding Student Organization of the Year Criteria
- A current chartered or sanctioned organization in good good standing with the University
- Maintained a positive presence on the TWU Denton Campus and encouraged all faculty, staff, and students to live according to the core values of the University.
- Furthered an environment with high standards of learning and created pathways for students to be more successful both in and out of the classroom.
- Intentionally fostered ongoing collaborative relationships with other student organizations and/or academic and student life departments with both internal programs and University events outside of the organization.
- Focused on effective transition among officers and members of the organization to ensure success and growth from year-to-year.
