Family Weekend Schedule
Family Weekend is the first big event for students and their families of the year! It will be a weekend full of fun, food, and tradition! And this year our weekend coincides with the 43rd Annual Denton Arts & Jazz Festival, held just south of campus at Denton's Quakertown Park. Enjoy live music, food, activities and exhibits Friday through Sunday.

Friday, October 6 | |

9 a.m. - 5 p.m. | TWU Bookstore Open (SUHH, 1st Floor) Grab some Pioneer gear for your family at the TWU Bookstore. |
4-7 p.m. | Check-in & Registration (Fit & Rec) After checking in, meet and mingle with other students, families and TWU staff. |
4-10 p.m. | Fit & Rec Center Open Enjoy a cardio or weight workout while you are visiting for the weekend. Free admission with your Family Weekend wristband (ages 18+). |
5:30-7 p.m. | Family Weekend Kickoff (TWU Gardens) Join us for a delicious barbeque meal, great games, music and fun for the whole family. Co-sponsored by TWU Fitness & Recreation |
7 p.m. | TWU Ghost Tours JJoin our student leaders to learn the history behind TWU’s most beloved haunts.Sponsored by Pioneer Ambassadors & TWU Admissions |

8 a.m.-6 p.m. | Fit & Rec Center Open Enjoy a cardio or weight workout while you are visiting for the weekend. Free admission with your Family Weekend wristband (ages 18+). |

9 a.m.-1 p.m. | Denton Community Market (317 W. Mulberry St.) Denton Community Market is a producer-only art and farmer's market in downtown Denton. It features live music, kids activities, local farms, artists, food trucks, vendors and more! |
10 a.m.-Noon | Brunch (Blagg-Huey Library) |
Noon-3 p.m. | Texas Women's Hall of Fame (Blagg-Huey Library, 2nd floor) The Hall of Fame recognizes and celebrates women who attained significant achievements. |
Noon-3 p.m. | A Life Unveiled: The Portrait of Florence Nightingale (Blagg-Huey Library) Discover the life and legacy of "The Lady with the Lamp." |
Noon-6 p.m. | Gaming Lounge Open (Fit & Rec) |
1 p.m. | TWU Soccer Game (Pioneer Soccer Park) Cheer on the Pioneers as they take on St. Mary's. Free with Family Weekend wristband. Sponsored by TWU Athletics. |
6 p.m.-10 p.m. | Shuttle to Denton Arts and Jazz Festival Take our shuttle to the 43rd annual Denton Arts and Jazz Festival! |

3 p.m. | TWU Wind Symphony Presents "¡Celebremos!" (Margo Jones) Featuring Concerto Competition winner, Stefany Flota, flute. Free admission with your Family Weekend wristband. |
