Get Involved through SPSO

The Scholar Programs Student Organization (SPSO) brings scholars together across programs to build community, support student leadership, and create meaningful experiences throughout the year.
SPSO is led by a Council made up of scholars from across the programs. The council includes the following roles:
Director - The SPSO Director serves as the primary student leader of the organization, helping guide its direction and support its overall success. The Director facilitates meetings, works with council members, and helps ensure that all scholar programs are represented.
Mentor Coordinator - The Mentor Coordinator supports the peer-mentorship program by helping connect mentors and mentees and ensuring that participants feel supported throughout the experience.
Treasurer/Secretary - The Treasurer/Secretary helps manage the organization’s finances and supports communication efforts. This role also helps document meetings and share updates with the scholar community.
Individual Program Presidents - Program Presidents represent their respective Scholar Programs within SPSO. They help share information between their program and the council while making sure their community’s voice is included in conversations and planning.
The SPSO Council works closely with Scholar Programs staff and program leadership to create opportunities for connection, involvement, service, and leadership development.

Peer Mentors

Peer mentors help new scholars feel connected, supported, and prepared as they transition to TWU. Mentors serve as a resource, a familiar face, and a reminder that no scholar has to navigate their first year alone.

Scholar Programs Suite

Located in Brackenridge Hall, the Scholar Programs Suite is a shared space where scholars can study, connect, attend events, meet with staff, or simply take a break between classes. It is one of the places where the Scholar Programs community comes to life.
