The Texas Leadership Scholars Program gives exceptional Texas students the freedom to pursue ambitious goals, discover their authentic voice, and build the future they've worked so hard to create. At TWU, you'll do that as part of a close-knit Scholar Programs community that will challenge, support, and celebrate you every step of the way.
The Texas Leadership Scholars Initiative
The Texas Leadership Scholars Program was created to ensure that some of Texas' highest-achieving students have the opportunity to pursue a four-year degree without financial barriers standing in the way.
By combining scholarship support with leadership development, career readiness, and a statewide network of scholars, TLS empowers students to focus on what matters most—learning, growing, and preparing to become the next generation of leaders across Texas.
For many students, TLS is more than a scholarship. It's the opportunity to fully invest in their future with the confidence that their hard work has opened the door to something extraordinary.
The TLS Experience at TWU
As part of Scholar Programs, TLS Scholars become members of a close-knit community that encourages leadership, career readiness, and meaningful connection. Through mentorship, professional development, study abroad opportunities, leadership experiences, SPSO, and campus involvement, students are challenged to make the most of every opportunity while supporting one another along the way.
Because Texas Leadership Scholars is still a young program, today's scholars have a unique opportunity to help define what it means to be a TLS graduate. They are building traditions, strengthening relationships across Texas, and creating a community that future scholars will be proud to join.
