Drone Use

All Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)/Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) or "drones" must be approved prior to operation on TWU campuses as per TWU URP I.23.h. Prior to purchasing a drone or contracting for drone services, complete the Risk Management Drone Application.

Please note that drone use on campus must meet the requirements set by the FAA UAV Rule Part 107, including operation by an individual with a Remote Pilot Certificate. In addition, all three TWU campuses are located in Class D airspace requiring FAA approval prior to all outdoor drone operations, which can take up to 90 days to obtain.
