Another TWU Holmes Scholar gains national recognition

The Texas Woman’s University Holmes Scholars in the College of Professional Education continue to represent the university well at the national level. After Phyliciá Anderson was named a Holmes Scholar of the Month in October, Blanca Jurado received the honor for May from the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE).

Faculty, students head to AERA 2023

Faculty and students from Literacy and Learning in the College of Professional Education (COPE) head to Chicago for the 2023 Annual Meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) April 13-16. 

Visiting Literacy Research Scholar Symposium set

The 2023 Visiting Literacy Research Scholar Symposium is set for June 28-29, 2023, on the TWU Denton campus. This year, the symposium will feature Stephanie Anne Shelton, PhD, an associate professor of qualitative research at the University of Alabama.

Digital Days summer camp back for 5th year

The popular STEM-based summer camp Digital Days offered by Literacy and Learning in the College of Professional Education enters its fifth year. This year's camp will be Monday, June 26 - Friday, June 30, for the first 20 children, ages 5-8, registered. 

Literacy and Learning launches Early Childhood Education undergraduate degree

The Department of Literacy and Learning in the College of Professional Education (COPE) now offers a new undergraduate degree program — the Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education — to prepare students to teach children, ages 3-8, and become fully certified in the state of Texas.
