New faculty member debuts Spanish Club

This fall, Angela Rodriguez Mooney, PhD, assistant professor of Spanish, started the TWU Spanish Club, where students, faculty and staff of all levels of Spanish proficiency can gather and practice their Spanish through conversation and playing games.

Amber Gaudet graduated from Texas Woman's University with a bachelor's degree in English literature, is pursuing a master's degree through the University of North Texas' Mayborn School of Journalism, and is already a working journalist for the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Telling the stories of an immigrant community

Author Cristina Henríquez has spent her life in two worlds, the America of its native-born citizens and the America that is the dream of the immigrant, and she's dismayed that what passes for immigration debate misses the reason behind immigration debate. Henríquez will visit TWU for the eighth annual Jamison Lecture this Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 7 p.m. in the Phyllis J. Bridges Auditorium in the Student Union at Hubbard Hall.

Shakhsari to discuss unrest in Iran at CAS Global Event

Sima Shakhsari, chair of the department of Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies at the University of Minnesota, will be the featured speaker at the CAS Global Perspectives event, "Women, Life, Freedom: The Iranian Movement," on April 6 at 11 a.m. in CFO room 205.
