Local Anesthesia Infiltration Course
The Texas Woman's University Dental Hygiene program offers a local anesthesia infiltration course for practicing, licensed dental hygienists twice a semester. The course includes lecture and laboratory.

- Based on Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) Board Rule 115.10(e)1-4
- The 20 didactic hours will be completed in an online setting.
- The course includes a 12 hour in person clinical/laboratory component
- Each person will successfully complete local infiltration anesthesia on a minimum of five live patient experiences.
- A hands-on simulation competency component must be demonstrated prior to treating the live patients.
- At a minimum, each person must demonstrate clinical competency in four different quadrants that includes at least teeth teeth.
- Must be performed under the direct supervision of a Texas-licensed dentist.
