State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement

The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) is a national initiative that provides access to online courses or programs in states other than the student’s while maintaining compliance with the standards of regulatory agencies.

Students considering an online academic program leading to professional licensure should contact the appropriate state licensing agency where he or she plans to work before beginning an academic program. The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement does not provide reciprocity for state professional licensing requirements.  Academic programs and individual graduates must meet standards set by that state’s licensing requirements.
