A Texas Woman’s alumna is getting a peek behind the curtains at the Paris Olympics and the Paralympic Games this summer. Vanessa Fiaud, PhD is serving as an official volunteer for the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Camp helps visually impaired children enjoy thrill of sports

TWU graduate student Gabe Cruz is volunteering at Camp Abilities Texas, which runs from July 7-13. Camp Abilities is a one-week-long educational sports camp that is operated around the world and is designed specifically for children and youth with visual impairments and blindness. The camp teaches children between 9 and 18 what they can do in the areas of sports and recreation.
Leadership skills key to student’s path to regent

With a heart for people and a desire to make an impact, Maya Landgrebe will serve as Texas Woman's new student regent. Landgrebe is a recent exercise science/pre-occupational therapy graduate and is a current occupational therapy doctoral student on the Houston campus.
Faculty win $10,000 first prize at research conference

Assistant Professor Ngozi Mbue, PhD, of the College of Nursing and Associate Professor Rhett Rigby, PhD, of the College of Health Sciences teamed with two others to win $10,000 and first prize at TARC, an annual research conference sponsored by the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES).
TWU design team places third at NASA-sponsored competition

Texas Woman's University undergraduate kinesiology students placed third in a statewide NASA-sponsored design competition. The team designed and tested a lightweight and compact exercise device for astronauts to prevent muscle atrophy.
