Protect Your TWU Email

At TWU, protecting your information is a top priority.

Once a TWU applicant creates their Pioneer Portal (the next step after applying), you are issued a TWU email account.  From then on, all official enrollment information is sent to this email address and includes an extra layer of data protection known as “Multi-Factor Authentication.”

What is multi-factor authentication?

You’ve probably seen this before, multi-factor authentication confirms your identity using more than one device. For example, when you login to your laptop, you may receive a text message on your phone asking you to confirm it is really you.

We know, we know. Who wants another step?  But this extra layer helps protect your personal information and keeps your account secure.

Important to Know

If multi-factor authentication is not set up shortly after your email is activated, your account will become locked to protect your data.

The only way to unlock a locked account is by contacting TWU IT Services.

Setting up multi-factor authentication now will help keep everything running smoothly as you prepare for classes.

*Helpful tip

When setting up multi-factor authentication, use a device you will bring with you to college, such as your personal phone.

Avoid using a relative’s or friend’s device. Login verification notifications will be sent to that device, which can make accessing your account difficult later.

Save yourself the headache and set it up on your own device from the start.
