Two faculty leaders inducted into National Academies of Practice

Noralyn Pickens, an associate dean for Interprofessional Education and Strategic Initiatives for the College of Health Sciences and College of Nursing, was recognized as a Distinguished Scholar Fellow in the occupational therapy academy, while Charlene Dickinson, dental hygiene program director in the School of Communication Sciences and Oral Health, was named a Professional Member in the oral health academy.

National group recognizes OT faculty member, student organization

A national organization representing occupational therapists has recognized faculty, students and alumnae from Texas Woman’s School of Occupational Therapy. The honors were announced during the American Occupational Therapy Association’s (AOTA) INSPIRE 2025 Annual Conference & Expo awards and recognition ceremony in April.
Dietitian finds calling in classroom

Rachel Poland was recently recognized for her contributions to the dietetics profession. The dietetic internship director for the Houston campus received the Emerging Dietetic Leader award at the Texas Academy Annual Conference & Exhibition (Texas ACE) in April.
