Coordinator of Tutoring

Welcome to the Write Site! I have been the coordinator of the Write Site at Texas Woman’s University since January of 2011. I also teach composition and literature courses in the English Department. I have a variety of teaching experience gained over the past 21 years, including teaching numerous college English courses at TWU, UNT, Grayson College, and Colorado State University. My other experiences in higher education include managing course redesign projects, instructional design, learning technologies, and assessment. I received in B.A. in Sociology from Texas Tech in 1995, an M.A. in English from UNT in 1998, and a Ph. D. in English in 2001. My areas of scholarly interest are Victorian literature, popular culture, and writing center theory and practice.

In my free time you’ll find me hanging out with my husband and son, David and Devin, spoiling our rescue pets, and playing both video and table top games.

I love managing the Write Site, working with our awesome writing consultants, and TWU students!

Hello! I’m an Arkansas transplant with a degree in English - Creative Writing and an emphasis in Politics that I earned from Hendrix College in 2019. I am currently a graduate student in the University of North Texas Public Administration program. I’m a political junkie, and I’m passionate about sustainable and livable communities. When I’m not working or in class, I spend most of my time looking after a rescue dog named Wanda and a rescue cat named Bids. In the time in between I hike and camp with my partner and try to squeeze in a political drama or sci-fi/ fantasy here and there.

I truly am a believer that good writing can do anything in the world. I suppose it’s fitting I’ve found myself here in the Write Site.
