About the book

Women have been shaping the conservation movement in Texas since the nineteenth century, yet their stories are seldom told. They have played important roles in establishing parks, protecting wildlife and habitat, developing policies that value nature, and defending communities from pollution and habitat destruction. Wild Women for Good: Stories of Conservation in Texas celebrates women who stepped forward to make a difference and tells a complex story of conservation in the Lone Star State.
