Fashion student designs store for children with disabilities, wins scholarship

TWU student Taylor Davis, a double-major in fashion design and fashion merchandising, was awarded first place and a $2,500 scholarship in the digital merchandising store planning category of this year’s Fashion Group International (FGI) of Dallas Scholarship Competition. Davis’ winning design concept, “Metrix,” imagines an adaptive clothing boutique designed for children with special needs. 

Texas Woman’s hosts Steve Forbes at fall lecture series

Steve Forbes, chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media, headlines the fall installment of the Paup Lecture Series hosted by the Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership at Texas Woman’s University. The free online event, which is open to the public, will be held at 5 p.m., Oct. 1, 2020. Preregistration is required.

U.S. News ranks TWU tops in Texas, fifth nationally for ethnic diversity

Texas Woman’s University has been recognized as having one of the most ethnically diverse student bodies in Texas and nationally, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 “Best Colleges” rankings, released today. TWU is ranked No. 1 in Texas and No. 5 nationally out of more than 1,500 regionally accredited schools evaluated.

TWU to host free virtual seminar focused on health policy

TWU’s Center for Women in Politics & Public Policy (CWPPP) and the Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN) will host a day-long virtual seminar focused on women leading the way in health policy. The seminar will be held 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sept. 18, and is free and open to the public.

Graduate students fuel TWU record enrollment

Enrollment at Texas Woman’s University reached a record 16,441 for fall 2020, a 4% increase over 2019, according to preliminary figures announced today by the university.
