Guinn Hall

We have partnered with University and Student Services (USS) to provide a full-service move-in experience for all students living with us in Guinn Hall. Students who move into the residence halls on their scheduled day will arrive at Guinn Hall for check-in at their designated time. Once at the residence hall, University and Student Services will unload your vehicle and move all of your items into your room for you. After they have unloaded your vehicle(s), you will be directed to parking. After you park, you may go back to your residence hall where you will get your key and start unpacking. Please note: It may take several hours for your belongings to get to your room.

Review your assigned route to campus. The address to the start of the move-in unloading zone is 320 E. University Drive.
Volunteers will ask for the student's building and last name to verify it is their move-in time and that the student has not already checked in.
Please stay in your vehicle while USS movers unload your vehicle.
Park your vehicle in the recommended locations.
Residents will enter Guinn Commons through the doors facing University Drive to receive their key and other materials.
Only the resident will be allowed into the key pick-up location in Guinn Commons.
It may take a while for your belongings to get to your room.

Guinn Routes and Directions

Attention: Due to increased pedestrian traffic in the area of the TWU Denton campus, we ask that you take particular care to follow move-in signage around campus to reach your residence hall on your move-in day.

Parking close to the residence halls and apartments on move-in day will be unavailable due to unloading zones.

Directions

On August 17 and 18, please use 320 East University Drive as the arrival location for the move-in route to the unloading zone with the professional movers. This address is for the parking lot entrance west of Guinn Hall. Volunteers will be located at a canopy tent in this parking lot to direct cars to the unloading zone.

If the student is pre-approved for move-in before August 17 or will arrive after 4 p.m. on August 18, they will be responsible for moving in their items on their own.

TWU Housing & Dining recommends that you follow the linked map below to make your way to the TWU campus August 17-18 once you enter Denton rather than use a map application. We have designated specific approach routes to use during move-in to ease traffic congestion.

Please do not be early for your move-in time slot. Each room is assigned a specific arrival time. If you are early, you will be asked to park and wait for your time. Each student may use the unloading zone with professional movers ONE TIME. The move-in check-in tent will verify this information.

Guinn Parking

Parking will be unavailable near Guinn Hall August 17-18. After having your vehicle unloaded, it is recommended you park on the north end of the Light Blue Parking Lot. There will be TWU shuttle service between that area and the residence hall during move-in August 17-18.

This campus map reflects all the available parking options during Fall Move-in. Locations include:

Dining Hall parking lot at the southeast corner of Bell Avenue and University Drive. It is accessed via Bell Avenue.
Lowry Woods Apartments parking lot at 1600 Oakland Street
Light Blue Lot, accessed via University Drive
Parking lot on the north side of the MCL Building, accessed via Grove Street and Vine Street
